AI Introduction
Did you know that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been around for a while? AI was first introduced by a man named Alan Turing. He invented the first computing system, which was called the Turing Machine. The Turing machine is an abstract mathematical model used to define the notion of computability. It provides a simplified representation of a computer that can perform computations on input data. This started the fascination on computer science and the beginning of AI that we know today.
My first experience using AI was when I was 6 years old. I got my first gaming system, the Gameboy Color. I was obsessed with video games (still am). The game that I played the most growing up was Pokémon Yellow. AI plays a big role when it comes to video games. You play as the playable character, which you control using some sort of controlling device. The rest of the characters in the games are non playable characters or NPC for short. The NPC in video games is the AI. It would use coding in the software to tell itself what the characters moves or actions should be. Video games are not at the point yet where the NPC will start to learn from itself and act accordingly like we are starting to see today. AI will become an integral part of the video game world.
What exactly is AI and how could it be dangerous? AI refers to computer systems or machines that can perform tasks that typically require human intelligence, such as learning, reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making. AI utilizes algorithms and data analysis to simulate or replicate human cognitive abilities. It has applications in various fields and can enhance efficiency and decision-making. AI can and will be amazing if put in the right hands. AI is new and anything new usually freaks people out because of what could possibly happen if its used for the wrong thing. I am all in when it comes to AI and I'm very excited to see the future of AI.
